To remove adhesive lettering and graphics |
|
|
STEP 1:
Use a hair dryer to heat the area
where the lettering needs to be removed.
A heat gun can also be used, but is not recommended for beginners as you may
damage the surface by applying to much heat.
STEP 2:
Use an old credit card to lift one of
the corners and then peel away.
STEP 3:
When removing self adhesive lettering from signs you can be left with the
adhesive/glue on the panel.
Use a mild solvent like turpentine in a spray can to
moisten the glue and after a minute remove with a tissue paper.
Do not use
thinners or strong chemicals as this will damage the surface.
STEP 4:
Thereafter, clean
the surface with a dish wash mixture - 1 table spoon sunlight mixed with 500mm
water and a cotton cloth.
On vehicles: polish the panel where the graphics were
removed. If the graphics were on the vehicle for a long time, it is advisable to
send it for a machine polish at your local car wash. |
